|
|
Hi Everyone,
Basically I am looking for a package where I can remote control the PTZ cameras and not necessarily record them. I have a separate video server to do that. I just wanted to ask a few questions in regard to software. Is there are an alternative software packages that will work with AXIS 212 and 213; other than the AXIS software package? Are there any open source projects? What is your experience with the package you ended up using?
Thank you for your help and your opinion,
Jeffery

Does the Axis front end not have enough control or if I may ask why are you looking for another option? If you already have a server to record, that server if good should allow control.
Any software application to move the ptz will also do the recording, but you don't need that part...correct? _________________ Ryan

Actually you have a choice!
There are many 3-rd party software with good support of AXIS cameras.
I can say most of independent surveillance software vendors support AXIS first and then support other cameras. _________________ home video surveillance software reviews

I strongly recommend Luxriot software. It is a true client-server architecture with an elegant client with a PTZ floating window control. You don't have to record the video to use it. I have used it with the Axis 213 and I am very happy with the results and the price.
