Wanted:

IP software with capability of working with various manufacturers of ip cameras, but mainly vivotek or dlink cameras. Looking for the biggest bang for the buck. Must be easy to use, fast to deploy, capable of large camera count, and very reliable. Remote client access to video server is a must and security for users in the software itself not windows.

Have you considered icode's icatcher console?

Scores highly in the maximum bang for your bucks department.
You can trial it for free.
See - http://www.icode.co.uk/icatcher/products/console.html

It is compatible with D-Link & Vivotek.
See - http://www.icode.co.uk/icatcher/help/info/cameras.htm

I have recommended it in the past and users have always been happy with it.

Go ahead and try Blue Iris. For $49 you will get stability and all the other features from high dollar applications. You can try it for free. See for yourself.

cheers,
Marian

Have a look on new LuxRiot review.

ICatcher from ICode was not bad when I have run it two years ago, but I havn't seen yet the last version.

I know one Software that can support IP camera.

I've tested it myself and it's easy to use and navigate. It also support PTZ, motion detection and remote viewing via internet and mobile phone.

And it's very cheap. Hope this help

I strongly recommend Luxriot. It supports hundreds of network cameras, including megapixel and capture cards. True client-server architecture with access control at server level. A fully fledged video surveillance software better than other more expensive ones out there.

I am not associated with the company and we use it in small as well as large projects.
