I'm fairly familiar with networking as far as Macs are concerned. But despite hours of trial and error on setting up my network camera to work with EvoCam I've had no success.

I guess the problem is that I really don't understand the principles involved. I would appreciate some help.

I have multiple Macs (and one Windows VIsta) on my wireless LAN connected with a Netgear router which in turn is connected to an AirPort base station set in bridging mode to serve the wireless clients.

I bought a Linksys WVC54GC camera. It took almost 2 hrs. on the phone with the Linksys tech to get the camera set up so that I can view its video on a Windows computer on my LAN or from outside my router. Suffice it to say that the camera works in wireless mode as long as I connect to the internal server via IE on a Windows machine. I can adjust settings in any browser window and view the video with IE on a windows machine.

Since the camera set up in this fashion can't be viewed with a Mac browser, I am trying to use it with my EvoCam software. I have used EvoCam for several years and it works fine when connected to my iSight camera with port 8080 selected. But nothing I've tried results in EvoCam's recognition of the Linksys network camera. Maybe it is because I have entered the data wrong in setting up the network camera in EvoCam. Or maybe I should have port forwarding configured differently in the router. I just don't know. Any configuration of the camera in EvoCam either results in an error "400: Bad Request" or in a continuously spinning wheel that says "connecting".

I have attempted to contact EvoCam technical support by email with no response.
If anyone has experience with this camera and/or software I would very much appreciate some assistance. I've run out of ideas. I'm sure I am close, but.....
Thanks.

EvoCam has replied and informed me that EvoCam does not support this particular model camera. If I had scrolled all the way to the bottom of their page on supported cameras, I would have seen this described.
