Hi again,.

Apologies if you have seen this thread before. I couldn't access the site so I've had to reregister.

I have recently bought a NC601 wireless IP cam. I succesfully installed it and could access it on LAN and WAN when connected via the Ethernet cable.

I could access it wirelessly on LAN by just plugging it into a power outlet around the house.

I am now having problems accessing it wirelessly on LAN and WAN. my port forwarding has been successfully set up in that I can type the internet address in and access the camera - but only when the Ethernet cable is attached.

The company which manufactures it have been all but useless and have just told me to ask a local retailer! They are based in China.

I have been setting up my recently acquired wireless Netgear router for WEP. I have entered the same settings as my router into the camera. Could this be the problem? Even when I disable the WEP facility, I still can't access the camere on WAN.

Can anyone offer me some guidance please.

Thank you.
Iain

Hi,
I would like to know if you found a solution to the problem. If I connect the camera to a wireless router with disabled encryption, the camera works wireless, but since I need some kind of security - I add the encryption again to the router and then the camera doesn't connect without the ethernet cable.
The comapny has not yet been helpful.

Most of the time you can't connect both the Wireless and the LAN port to the same network at the same time. It will most likely confuse it on which device to send and receive data on.
