You would check the camera manual for the default camera port. What type of Internet does your friend has? You need to call the ISP to check if there's static (fixed) IP at this location.

I can not see the AVI, but hte 2100 generally doesn't work well in lower light conditions. It is designed for majorly areas where there is atleast a street light.
