I purchaced this camera, along with the outdoor dome mount. I personally mounted the device from a 3rd story peak of my clients contruction warhouse. From that vantage point, you get the full ability of the camera presented to you. With the 270 PTZ, you can zoom out a quarter mile almost, all the way to there back wall, and focus in on a single person. I purchased the camera with an outdoor enclosure because it was usable with a web-browser. Well, I should have looked closer because it only works with Windows. Now I was stuck. I had to sit down to 'invent' something to make it work with our Linux environment.
Anyway, I programmed a converter that takes the snaphots and converts them to an MJPEG stream that can be watched directly with firefox, or with the http://www.charliemouse.com/code/cambozola/ java viewer. My converter can be found und... (see the full review here) |
