Nope, no motion for jpeg, just a still jpeg, or mpeg-4 stream. The older-still dlink g900 does mjpeg but with a much worse quality image.
No login is needed for the still jpeg, which may be a good thing since the login encoding is proprietary (and goofy; a variation of a rot13-type thing).

My DCS-950G works great!
I bought it even with the bad reviews and i have had no trouble at all with it! It came with 1.6 firmware. It does run hot and it has been on for over 48 hours so far.
Only trouble i had was using a port that my ISP didn't block....
