Overall, I'm quite happy with this camera. I needed PTZ, wireless, motion detection and night vision capabilities and this camera fit the bill. The included recording software made the package complete. When you consider the price your pay for the included features, this is a great package. The only real negative is that the camera does not include a built-in infrared illuminator - that is, you don't really get low-light functionality without purchasing an additonal accessory.... Expensive little camera, but pretty decent quality. I dislike the fact that it has to go to my computer and not to a stand-alone DVR. (Perhaps you can run it to a DVR and I just don't know that.)
If I had one room to watch and had room on my hard drive to capture the video, I'd buy it. If I had several rooms to watch and wanted ongoing video capture on all of them, I'd go with a system that includes a DVR that overwrites itself when it gets full. ... (see the full review here) |

overall, this camera is going to do what I wanted it to. Hopefully a firmware will be available allowing it to work with firefox. I give it a 8 out of 10 overall, and will be keeping it. The limitations it has I knew of ahead of time, and nothing got in the way of it working after it was in hand. Nice to see a PTZ camera in this price range!

A fine camera for the price. It has more functions than I need. I had hoped for a better image quality, but those typically cost 800 or better I suppose. Of course, I am running "normal" quality as I have 5 cams running and still need to add 3 more. Need a 4x or better OPTICAL zoom.
Am thinking of trying that "lizard cam".
Oh, bandwidth wasn't bad at all. Running 5 cams, my CPU usage was 10% each cam n a 3ghz machine, and network capacity was just over 2 percent with all five set at normal. I ... (see the full review here) |
