Design: 8.0 / 10 The BL-c10a is used to look out a window and monitor the property. However, its not really set up to be mounted in that direction so it takes a little rigging.
Image Quality: 7.0 / 10 Image is decent. Not as good as an AXIS 206, but its a very nice image for the price and I was pleasantly suprised. Considering I use my for outdoor monitoring and it does not have an Iris it does very well.
Easy of Use: 7.0 / 10 Once it is set up, its very easy to use. Most things can be controlled through the standard web browser. The viewnetcam.com (dynamic DNS) service that panasonic provides works well for viewing over the internet. The free NCR camera recording software panasonic provides is very powerful and has a recording scheduler(you download it from the web) but it will only support a single camera.
Connectivity: 9.9 / 10 No problems with connectivity.
Other Features: 8.0 / 10 The pan tilt is awesome and no other camera can compare in the $160 price range. Would be nice if it could tilt up a little higher, but the horizontal panning is acceptable.
Strengths Its a heck of a camera for the price. In fact, try to find one with as good of an image and features...you can't without paying at least twice as much. Does well in moderate light, and not bad in low light. VERY STABLE Operation. Runs for months with no maintenance. I've not used the motion detection, but its there if you need it.
Weaknesses Setup up the FTP transfers and using the triggers is not for a novice. Use the NCR software for recording and you're all set.
Summary There are some affordable PTZ cameras coming on the market now, but the BL-c10a is tough to beat at the price ($160 US). Decent PTZ controls. Decent Image. Incredibly stable with the 1.22 firmware. Free recording/monitoring software and free dynamic DNS service. Works well pointed out a window to monitor property (Mine is actually installed in an unheated garage that gets freezing temperatures). I have not used the wireless version
