Overall, I'd say this camera performs well. Its priced slightly higher than others in its class, but with the added FTP upload feature in the firmware, and the intuitive web interface, and easy setup, this camera is excellent, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to secure their home.

The seller for me was the free recording software. I found it easy to use and it connected seemlessly with my network. It has been working great and I can view it from work over the WWW. Customer support is very friendly and responed within a timely manner. I requested to have a FAQ added to their website and it was added within a couple days.

This camera was a great purchase. The Pan/Tilt features are great but the added feature of optical zoom really makes the differnce. I have had other cameras that featured digital zoom but with the optical zoom I can now see the difference. Great camera! I hope they can make a wireless version available soon. Bon Jones

I was impressed with the initial set up of the cameras it was very easy. But later when i ran into trouble it was hard to get help. the camera instrutions were not very clear on a multi camera installation, that would be viewed from the web. And having to walk all of my customers through changing there internet options to download an ActiveX pluggin should be corrected with a downloadable script. I am not saticefied with these cameras or the support offered by the company.

I have been running one of these cams for over 6 months and just added a second unit on the opposite side of the house where it's used to monitor an elderly shut-in. It has proven invaluable in monitoring and communicating with the patient. In the evening when lights are shut off, we have a few 4 watt photo cell night lights that give a great and clear image in the "low-Lux" mode. The TPZ feature allows us almost full coverage from one end of the house to the other...so far great reliability and

I wanted to buy an Axis Communications 2100 Network Camera but found out they are disco'd. After searching PC Connection I found the 4XEM W-2100. I guess this is a new camera they just released but it is comparable to the 2100 by Axis with a few added features. So far it is working great. I got it up and running fairly easy and got it working online so I can view it from wherever I am. I even figured out how to view snapshots on my cell phone, which I thought that was cool. This is an excellent camera that is great for security and for fun. You can do all sorts of things with this camera. This camera and the Dlink 6620G are virtually identical. The accompanying software is identical. The big pluses of this camera are that it's cheaper and the tech support is great. The major negative is the issue with having to lower your security settings. 4XEM claims to have this remedied soon however.

This is a great camera I use at home, and I'll be installing 8 more at my business. I've talked to my employees, and they said they'll feel more secure with their cars in the parking lot late at night, and I feel like I have control of my own security system.

We installed the camera in a race car at the local stock car track. It performed quite well. We set up our WiFi AP in the middle of the track and used 802.11b for range, but we still had some dropout points. Considering the vibrations and motion of the car we were able to get some excellent video. We were even able to move the cammera in the car, but the odd time the pan gear would jam. This was easily fixed by removing the power from it once the car was stopped. We now have the camera installed

I purchased one of these cameras so I could look in on my house while I am away on business trips. The camera worked fine right out of the box. The images could be a little clearer but it is adequate for what it is intended. Set up was a breeze; first you connect the camera via an Ethernet cable to enter your settings, then wireless to configure your router. I was up and running in 15 minutes, I have mine set to take a snapshot when motion is detected and email them back to my account. I liked i

This is a wonderful 30FPS full motion MPEG4 ethernet (aka TCP/IP) camera with integrated webserver plus security features, bundled with the camera is software to allow recording on a single PC of up to 16 concurrent IP cameras. The streams are stored on hard drive, and can be viewed by a supplied viewer while recording continues, they may also recycle based either on file size or length of time. Thus you may record literally weeks or months of video on a server dedicated for this purpose. This r

I wouldn't buy this again and I'm going to try and get a refund on it. The motion detection / advertised low-light / wireless function were the primary reasons for buying it and it's outperformed by an eight year old webcam hooked up to webcamXP. If I wanted best-in-class live image viewing through a browser I might consider it (except for the browser hangs), but the security aspect is not reliable enough and neither is the basic connectivity.

So, I have been evaluating this camera for a week now and related Axis software. The only issue I have run into so far is this recovery problem over a wireless network. Unfortunately its a killer for the product. If you are planning to remotely manage these cameras, they must be reliable and never hang. In my case, no one is at the property to cycle power on a hung camera... so monitoring is dead until the next visit to the property. This is unacceptable in my opinion. Its very unfortunate, sinc

So far, no problem for me. I hope it will last a while, and it is more stable than 4xEM cameras. I heard Axis cameras are based on Linux, so that helps make Axis cameras more stable. The Axis 2120 is a great mid-level camera that's been out for long enough that it can be had at 1/3rd of its original MSRP or less and places such as eBay. For the enterprising security buff, an individual needing to supplement their existing security solution, or even the casual gadget hacker, the Axis 2120 is a great and affordable place to start. Comparing the older 2100 makes it even more apparent that the 2120 was the star of its generation at Axis, and I heartily recommend it.

I use Axis cameras frequently and it is really hard to beat the quality of this camera. There is a big difference between interlaced and progressive. You can see the difference with any of the Axis camera line. All the camera settings are stored at the camera which is real nice. A great camera for the price; I've got lots of them in 24/7 use along with the wired version (DCS 900), and they all mostly just work. Reliability is great, although I've seen indications that the metal mount packaged with the camera also serves as somewhat of a heat sink -- cameras not mounted to a good thermal conductor seem to get touchy after months of continuous operation.

Good for what it is, a cheap, no frills, IP camera. Video quality is adequate, and setup was easy (as long as you follow the instructions). Don't expect crystal clear video (you would be crazy to think that for what these units sell for). I have it set up in my CNC shop so I can leave a project and check in on it from different locations, and it serves that purpose very well.

Expensive little camera, but pretty decent quality. I dislike the fact that it has to go to my computer and not to a stand-alone DVR. (Perhaps you can run it to a DVR and I just don't know that.) If I had one room to watch and had room on my hard drive to capture the video, I'd buy it. If I had several rooms to watch and wanted ongoing video capture on all of them, I'd go with a system that includes a DVR that overwrites itself when it gets full.

For the price i got it at.. i really can't complain but when the normal price is 2/3rd's another competitor's model with much better performance (dlink) why would you buy it? Hopefully a firmware update will cure the lack to use of the more advanced features (motion capture and email delivery) and the poor response i've received on the only support call i ever made (script being read) leads me to not recommend this as a primary cam for anything serious. However, for the casual use in good li

This same company made cameras for other vendors and I have been using this exact camera type and have 3 cameras in 2 locations for pleasre viewing remote and security. One is at the beach pointing out to the bay on a barrier Island just so I can check the weather and fishing conditions by the boat traffic and decide if I want to take a few days drive 89 miles to fish. If the weather is dismal and or raining I can it for another time. The camers is well made and does not go down or break. The c

Good price to feature ratio. Camera is a pain to setup unless your home network is using the 192.168.0.xxx subnet (linksys boxes use 192.168.1.xxx). TRENDware could have made the setup a lot easier by enabling DHCP (since it shows up as a UPnP device) instead of giving the box a static IP on a less used subnet (if you have a d-link box, setup should be a lot easier). Don't be fooled by the pictures of this camera... make sure you read the specs (7.7L x 3.5W x 2H in. is HUGE). Don't make an

I just got 2 FD6112V cameras from www.atriniti.com, less than 1 week. I have been running the testing, with 1 camera, with continuous testing, night & day. No problem so far. Actually, I am quite impressed with its ability to work very well in total darkness. Compared with 4xEM cameras (I also own IPCAMWLPTZ, IPCAMWLPTG, IPCAMWPTZ for 2+ years now), I am very happy with it so far. With 4xEM cameras, once in while, it looses connectivity for a short period of time (minutes), then it comes back

Overall, I think this camera is alright. It uses a few new technologies Vivotek has not used before so there are some bugs. Like I mentioned, the FTP does not work, RTSP only works within the local network and the frames per second isn't that great. Once they get the bugs figured out, I'm sure it will be a great step forward for Vivotek.

If you can get it cheap and don't mind that it looks like a kids toy, it's an ok camera. The Vivotek IP7131 is a much nicer camera, but for a camera with low light capability you'll have to go a much more expensive camera from Vivotek IP7151 or FD6112V or PZ6112, or switch to another brand. For the price you might be better of with some of trendnet's cheaper infrared cameras, or a linksys WVC200.

By a camera that can cycle through different locations while it records. I contacted the manf. about this issue and they were less than helpful. They said it was because of the mechanism and that I would have to write a CGI script to make it patrol by itself. Well, obviously if I could make it autopatrol with a CGI script, it isn't the so called "Mechanism". In short, if you can't program in cgi, leave this camera alone.

When I purchased the cameras a year ago I was told they were the latest on the market and would perform the advertised capabilities. Now the camera has been placed on EOL status by the manufacture. The cameras electronics consistantly failed and were of limited use for the a patrol application. It is best suited in an enviornment where operational consistancy is not a requirement and security is not the primary application. This camera is for all intents and purposes an expensive toy.

The best feature set on the market. Robust software (never hanged/never needed a reboot since I got it). I can live with Explorer launched specifically for the cam and I can live with the ugly design. Vivotek technology is at the heart of ALL D-Link cameras ! D-Link always lag behind Vivotek in terms of upgrades that's why I chosed the Vivotek PZ6114 insteak of the D-Link 6220g.

I wouldn't recommend buying this camera. Pay out twice as much for an Axis, Samsung or JVC. Your money will be well spent. Most of all it was a letdown. I expected a good camera, and did not recieve it. I would have been happy with half the performance of one of the top cameras, but I feel that at half the price it only delivers about 20%.
