Design: 9.9 / 10 Very well built in a metal enclosure. A little heavy.
Image Quality: 9.9 / 10 Image is very crisp and clear. I haven\'t tried much on audio, but it seems acceptable. Audio could be more improved. However, I mainly use video, in B&W (for bandwidth saving on my broadband connection), no voice, so audio is not a concern for me. Its ability to see in total darkness really impresses me.
Easy of Use: 9.0 / 10 The software that comes free with this camera is the same one that comes with 4xEM cameras (I also own some different 4xEM cameras). It works very well with the software. Software is easy to use and configure the camera. I don\'t give a 10, because I think the software could be more improved, to recognize other popular camera brands like Axis.
Connectivity: 8.0 / 10 It took me a little time to get the installation software (that comes with the camera) recognize the camera. I had to power off the camera, then on, for the camera to be recognized. Axis camera is easily recognized by its installation software, which really impresses me. On the flip side, of course, Axis cameras are so expensive.
Other Features: 9.5 / 10 It comes with standard features that are on other cameras.
Strengths - 0lux.
- well built and protected.
- video quality is good.
- cost seems reasonable.
Weaknesses - Not easy to be recognized initially.
- Service Center is in Taiwan, that means you have to mail it there for repair. However, their tech support is very responsive. I sent an technical email asking questions to their center in Taiwan. They responded within few hours.
Summary I just got 2 FD6112V cameras from www.atriniti.com, less than 1 week. I have been running the testing, with 1 camera, with continuous testing, night & day. No problem so far. Actually, I am quite impressed with its ability to work very well in total darkness. Compared with 4xEM cameras (I also own IPCAMWLPTZ, IPCAMWLPTG, IPCAMWPTZ for 2+ years now), I am very happy with it so far. With 4xEM cameras, once in while, it looses connectivity for a short period of time (minutes), then it comes back. It becomes more and more often, especially with the IPCAMWLPTZ and IPCAMWPTZ. Probably, because they are 2+ yo by now. I hope I won\'t have the same problem with the FD6112V cameras. Time will tell. I will come back and post more comments later on, once I have more updated performance information. BTW, I have been using Active Webcam v9.6 demo. There is a 2sec delay on the video displayed on AW. It is discouraging, as AW is a very reasonable priced software that can recognize many of my camera models (Axis, 4xEM, Vivotek, etc). It doesn\'t seem to be the problem with FD6112V, as it is almost no delay when I used the software that comes with FD6112V. I have to contact AW technical support for more help. I am not very impressed with AW technical support so far. I sent an email few weeks already, asking questions on AW, they haven\'t responded me yet. There is no phone number either. I hope my review is useful for those who are looking to buy this FD6112V. I was looking for reviews myself few weeks ago, and found none.
