Smartvue Selects SafeNet Sentinel Hardware Keys to Secure IP Video Surveillance Application and Safeguard the Privacy of Individuals

BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFNT), setting the standard for information security, today announced that Smartvue Corporation, a leader in wireless IP video solutions, has chosen SafeNet Sentinel Hardware Keys to secure the company’s leading IP video surveillance solution, SecureVue.

In order to comply with laws governing the privacy of surveillance videos, Smartvue needed to ensure there was no unauthorized access to video footage. Smartvue required a solution to maintain system security and chose SafeNet Sentinel Hardware Keys to monitor remote access to the system.

SecureVue is Smartvue’s secure plug and play system for wireless and wired IP video surveillance and analytics. SecureVue delivers DVD resolution video in almost any lighting condition and enables reliable, long range wireless IP surveillance.

The SafeNet Sentinel Hardware Keys work with the SecureVue system to screen the users who want access to surveillance footage. The Sentinel Key is required to enable access to the system to view live and recorded video.

“I’ve had a long and successful relationship with SafeNet, they provide a level of security that no one else in the industry provides. Using Sentinel Hardware Keys, SecureVue is able to put an iron curtain between valuable video and prying eyes,” said Martin Alan Renkis, founder & CEO of Smartvue. “Software implementation was very straightforward, enabling us to get SecureVue to the market quickly.”

“With the increasing prevalence of security cameras, it’s critical that a high level of security be applied to the images they collect,” said Ken Chow, general manager, SafeNet's Software Protection Business Unit. “We are extremely proud that Smartvue selected our technology to safeguard the privacy of individuals.”

Sentinel Hardware Keys are the world’s most secure hardware tokens which, when attached to a computer or network, monitor and enforce the licensing of products which have been protected using this solution. Sentinel Hardware Keys deliver military-grade security through public key cryptography, AES encryption and internal authentication. Sentinel Hardware Keys are one of the main components of SafeNet’s Unified Software Protection, the world’s first comprehensive solution for protecting software products from unauthorized use and distribution.
