Malaysia Financial Services Company Select ACTi IP Surveillance Solution for Data Center Protection
Hong Leong Assurance Berhad (HLA), a licensed composite insurance company, is the financial services arm of Hong Leong Group Malaysia, which is one of Malaysia's largest conglomerates. In order to protect the Financial Insitiution's Data Center which contains their computer infrastructure and sensitive customer data, HLA selected ACTi IP Surveillance Solution for constructing their security surveillance system.
With high speed network infrastructure is in placed and available in HLA Data Center, IP Surveillance Solution, therefore, is HLA’s idea surveillance architecture. Connection via Ethernet cable instead of 1-to-1 coaxial cable links reduces both cable and labour costs. Cabling becomes simple and the installation also comes with minimized cabling. ACTi IP Surveillance Solution also allows personnel in Data Center and IT Manager of HLA to access any of the camera anytime. Via Internet, remote and multiple locations can be monitored anywhere and managed centrally. Lower installation, operation and maintenance costs sharply lower overall total cost of ownership. The lowest total cost of ownership is also important for HLA’s decision of using ACTi IP Surveillance Solution instead of standard DVR solutions.
The ACTi IP Surveillance Solution for The HLA Data Center, comprising hardware and software, provides full resolution and real time surveillance and recording. This Project was rolled out by Covista Resources, a System Integrator for EKTECH Consulting which is the distributor of ACTi in Malaysia. They installed ACTi’s Video Servers, SED2100R to connect the sixteen units of analog domes. Recording is carried out by ACTi’s Streaming Activator to store all the events.
This project is a significant win for ACTi as its producst coming with high compression ratio, resolution and quality. With ACTi’s video servers, it consumes lower bandwidth and it will not impact HLA’s network performance at all. ACTi’s technology delivers high resolution and real-time video; therefore it ensures the precise identification needed for reliable surveillance.
