Wilfrid Laurier University Selects 4XEM Network Cameras for Campus Surveillance Solution
Buffalo, NY April, 2007 – Wilfrid Laurier University recently installed 4XEM Network Cameras at its Brantford Campus, which is quickly expanding across downtown Brantford. 4XEM Network Cameras were selected over a CCTV DVR solution as the 4XEM proposal offered the latest digital video technology in an easily expandable system, at a lower cost.
4XEM Cameras were installed to increase campus safety and deter theft and vandalism, and were deployed in high-traffic areas including building access points and parking lots. The 4XEM IP-based system leverages the university’s existing Network and provides 24 hour recording onto a PC Server with over 1.5 terabytes of hard drive storage.
Milestone XProtect Enterprise software is employed for video streaming, recording and analysis of the video. The network cameras are programmed for both scheduled video recording and video recordings and snapshots based on motion. Security staff can now monitor the entire campus in real time, as well as easily search and retrieve video concerning any reported incidences.

4XEM WFDV fixed dome network cameras were selected for parking lots as there was a requirement for vandal proof cameras with day/night recording abilities. Laurier installed cameras on six different buildings, utilizing a variety of 4XEM cameras including the E200DNWV, one of the best outdoor day/night speed dome cameras in the industry. Cameras can be easily added in future expansions without the requirement of an additional DVR.
